Procedures for Ending the CADV Hold

As part of the DSU retention plan, advising holds (called CADV holds) have been placed on all new freshmen, sophomores, and students who needed to complete pre-general education requirements (courses include ENGL 033, MATH 021 & MATH 101).  These advising holds make it necessary for students to visit with their advisors prior to making schedule changes.  The advising holds are DSU’s attempt to prevent students from making schedule changes which put them in jeopardy of system-wide progression rules (including the pre-general education requirements and courses needed for the Proficiency Exam).

The CADV hold is the only hold that can be removed by an advisor.  This hold can be temporarily removed through the following steps:

·         Log into WebAdvisor

·         On the student advisee roster, select the appropriate student and click on the drop-down menu; then click on “REST – View/End Restrictions” and submit.  (See below.)
