Learning Objectives
   
Learners will:

  1. Assess how formative evaluation and summative evaluation are both different from, and complimentary to each other.

  2. Identify the basic steps in creating a program evaluation 

  3. Identify and apply a range of evaluation strategies to determine program effectiveness.

  4. Understand the details of preparing and evaluation report.

  2. Evaluation Design and Tools, North Central Regional Educational Laboratory

  3. Check the documents on the resources page related to evaluation.  They include a sample program evaluation plan, an evaluation model comparison, a list of functions and tasks of evaluation, and suggestions for reporting evaluation findings.

Assignments

  1. Survey these technology evaluation tools unveiled at the recent Secretary of Education's Conference on Evaluating the Effectiveness of Educational Technology.

  2. Your final instructional design component will be an outline of a program evaluation plan. This outline will consist of several pasts as listed below.  Please write a brief description on how you'll address each of the pieces of your evaluation plan. 

    • Evaluation Purpose

    • Evaluation Audience

    • Key issues or guiding questions

    • Data sources, resources

    • Data collection tools and techniques

    • Data analysis procedures

    • Results reporting methods
